...and PADDLEDOG NATION is listed as an official participant. Didn't go last year as it was during my wife's chemo-therapy sessions.
BUT... since she is now FREE of cancer (we do believe in miracles) I will be going and she will be my travelling companion!!! Hoping to camp @ Nick's Lake (state campground).
Any other paddledogs thinking about going? Bill, did't you go last year?
May will come quickly so don't delay. ADK Paddlefest is a great experience and there are lots of great things to do and see within an hour's drive of Old Forge. I could spend a day in the Old Forge Hardware Store.

I'll be there along with several other freestylers. We'll be doing freestyle demos and answering questions about the sport and about upcoming freestyle symposiums. I hope some of you will stop by our booth. We'll be there all day Saturday and Sunday.

I earlier posted that several of us would be at Paddlefest doing Freestyle Demos. I recently heard from John at Mountainman that they would most likely not be able to provide a room for us as they had previously. We do quite a few demos each year, largely at our own expense. Most venues provide us either with lodging, campsites, and or meals. Without that minimal level of support, the expense of doing out of town demos becomes too much. We're still hoping John comes through or we find another way to cover some expenses, but at this time it looks like we'll have to skip Paddlefest this year. If things change, I'll be sure to post an update.
Time is getting close - only one month from today and I'm getting psyched. Got my reservation for Nick's Lake Campground (site 45 if anyone wants to drop by). April 23 will be my 1st day of permanent vacation and I'll probabaly spend it in the garage getting the camp & canoe gear out of winter storage.
One of my top 5 agenda items is to meet PaddleDog Bill. You can run, Bill, but you can't hide! #1 is to paddle my short list of solo's to finally decide what to get for me. Pretty much decided that the new tandem will be an OT Penobscot 16.
Even if I wasn't looking to buy, I'd be there. Great times.
