I'm not an expert on paddles and even less on bent shafts... but that isn't going to stop me from offering my opinion.
From what I understand, bent shafts are primarily for going fast and are best used with the hit and switch method. Basic strokes (J, draw & sweep) are clumsy with a normal 14 degree angle blade. I think someone (Mitchell?) makes a 7 degree angle that is supposed to be an acceptable compromise. If I thought I could sneak another paddle into the garage without my wife seeing it, I'd consider getting one.
Remember, this opinion is offered by a guy whose favorite paddle is a cheap plastic/alum paddle from Walmart. The BB Arrow goes as a spare and the rest usually stay in the garage loft.
