Re: Have High Gas Prices Changed Your Paddlin Plans?
'round here (northeast FL) we are paying $4.09-ish. I was just in Salt Lake City for a meeting and - hold your breath - I actually saw gas for $3.99!!! $4.50 would push me over the edge I think... but I should say that out loud - it definitely could happen here too. It is making people make better decisions about using up an exhaustible fuel BUT the costs of alternative fuel cars are still not within reach or real-at-all yet! UGH!
I may seek out some water (not ocean where there can be sharks - sorry for the cross posting
soon.

Re: Have High Gas Prices Changed Your Paddlin Plans?
Stevie, where are you in FL? St Aug? Cheap gas here is $4.59/gal...not mowing the lawn this weekend. In So CA with the exception of water taxis and Amtrak Coastliner the idea of hauling a kayak on public transit hasn't caught on yet. Most city buses have bike racks and in summer one can usually haul a surfboard at least. Of course my kid pointed out that if I gave up stopping at Starbucks I could offset the higher cost of gas. Thank you Capt. Obvious!
